Blizzard's lore is so compelling because it has the richness and complexity of real-world history. But for this very reason, it can be hard to know where to start if you just want to know "the basics." Not every roleplayer is a compulsive lore-collector, and not every character is a historian! Should your character know the details of the War of the Ancients or the name of the demon who engineered the Scourge? How many people in real life know the name of their local congressperson, much less the details of the Punic Wars and the rise and fall of the Holy Roman Empire? The goal of the Dramatis Personae lore library is to divide our lore information up into easy segments for beginning and intermediate lore students. Learn only what you need to know, one bite-sized piece at a time. All the information on this site is taken directly from Blizzard sources (citation system in the works!).
