Long long ago (okay, in 2003), two young women named Alanna and Mishell were experiencing similar frustrations trying to roleplay in EQ. Both of them formed roleplay guilds on separate servers to try and fix these problems, with some success. Then, a few months later, they found each other. They realized that by pooling resources, players, and manpower, they could create a synergy between the two guilds, and form an organization that went above and beyond what a guild could provide for its members. Since then, both guilds have gone by the wayside, but the principles and goals of those dedicated roleplayers and their former guildies continues to this day.
These two young women aren't the only ones who have ever run into online roleplaying trouble, of course. We've all had frustrations trying to roleplay in MMORPGs - frustrations such as:
Dramatis Personae has dealt with these problems by cultivating a supportive OOC community of some of the most gifted online roleplayers in the world. The basis for truly excellent cooperative storytelling is mutual trust. In Dramatis Personae, you can at last find someone with whom to match wits, plot mayhem, and experience long-term, epic storylines. You'll find true "kindred RP spirits" here who will follow you from character to character, server to server, even game to game.
Best of all, other than basic rules of courtesy and standards of quality roleplay, DP doesn't try to tell you how to live your life or play your game. Level as fast or slow as you like. Play eight hours a day or once every three months. There's no one to impress, no one who needs to "approve" your membership. Your status with Dramatis Personae is entirely under your control. As DP is not a guild but an open, forum-based community, you can't be "kicked out" for any reason other than malicious conduct toward a fellow member.
