HHi! I'm Mishell Baker, and in a sense, I've been with Dramatis Personae since before it even existed. DP originally came about as a sort of creative merger and lore-sharing effort between two EverQuest roleplaying guilds - mine and Alanna's. Both Alanna and I have since canceled our EverQuest accounts and abdicated our respective "thrones," but because DP was founded on worthy principles, it is alive and well, and has grown much larger than either of us could ever have imagined.
In real life I'm a 31-year-old married woman who happily inhabits the wondrous and fantastic realm of Los Angeles, California. My husband (Skitch on the message boards) works for Yahoo! Movies, and I currently do not contribute to the family income, for a couple of reasons. First, because I've been diagnosed with a condition that makes prolonged employment next to impossible. (Don't worry, it's not terminal, and in fact is supposed to get milder as I age.) Second of all, I have decided to devote my "work energy" toward developing my career as a writer. I've had some limited success so far - PM me if you want to hear the dull details.
But what does my lack of regular employment mean to you? It means that I can make myself available for assistance (or for fun!) almost any time, with a bit of prior warning. I consider the time I spend in WoW to be the "exhibition games" for my career as a writer, as well as a chance to get to know some great creative minds and share ideas. So for me especially, good roleplaying is never time misspent.
I've been roleplaying off and on since the D & D Basic Set in the red box. My most memorable roleplaying experiences prior to WoW have been in the White Wolf World of Darkness, particularly Werewolf (for which I DMed about twice as often as I played), though I also dabbled in Vampire and Changeling. I've headed up a couple of long- and short-term "storylines" in MMORPGs as well, including the long-running, open-ended Barbarian and Erudite sagas in EverQuest, and the two elven "pacers" in World of Warcraft. I also came up with the "pacer" idea, for what it's worth - see the board for details!
I look forward to seeing everyone in the realms of WoW, which is at present my only roleplaying outlet.
