DP is not a MMORPG Guild. We do not have a tag hanging under our names in game
(IG) proclaiming our association. Some characters in DP join IG guilds, some do not. Generally, DP considers a
guild an individual character choice. Would your character or wouldn’t your character be likely to sign up with
a bunch of people and for what reason?
Guilds are for the characters. DP, then, is for the players.
We like to think of ourselves more as a troupe. We have actors and playwrights, directors and
set dressers. And we have Producers. There is not much formality to the nuts and bolts of our community. What
little we have can be seen reflected in our titles on the forums.
The Basics
- Guest: A Non-DP member. Anyone is free to browse the public areas of our boards, but you must have an account to post.
- DP Auditioner: A DP member. These people have created accounts with us and are getting their feet wet on our boards.
- Dramatis Performer: A full DP member. These are people who have invested in the DP community, participated
in multiple threads and perhaps even started a storyline.
- Dramatis Producer: A full DP member and part of the Producers' Circle (PC). The PC is the administrative organization
for DP. It is kept small to remain manageable. Invitations come only when additional members would benefit the
management of this site and the day to day issues that confront any community. Only Producers and the Site Admin
may speak on behalf of the community as a whole.
- Site Admin: A full DP member, part of the PC and named Alanna. Alanna creates, runs and manages these boards.
She gets a little help from the PC. She was also the founder of one of DP’s precursor organizations, Norrathian
Dramatis Personae (NDP) which combined with Mishell’s Strictly In-Character (SIC) to form EQ Masquerade from
which DP is directly descended. Only Producers and the Site Admin may speak on behalf of the community as a whole.
The Fancy
- DP Character: An IG Character with an account through which a player can post in-character
comments, stories and quips separately from his player account. Any player with an account who has taken the time to introduce himself on our boards may make unlimited character accounts.
- DP Choreographer: A special title of merit for those members of the community who have both volunteered to lead regular roleplay events and have demonstrated their ability to do so.
